Reclaiming the Language of Our Land.

Łutsël K’é Dene First Nation Elders & Youth welcome Mãori Rangstahi & Kaitiaki to Timber Bay, NWT for a cultural exchange, sharing ways of knowing and being, language wisdom and oral history. What resulted was a powerful intergenerational transfer of traditional knowledge and language, and a beautiful, permanent connection between two Nations.

Location | Filming took place in Thaidene Nëné National Park Reserve and Indigenous Protected Area. It is located at the transition between boreal forest and tundra, including the east arm of Tu Nedhé, within the traditional territory of the Akaitcho First Nations, primarily within the homeland of the Łutsël K’é Dene First Nation. Thaidene Nëné means Land of the Ancestors in Dënesųłıné.
